The maintenance of a compressed air system involves the periodic inspection and replacement of key components. This includes the timely replacement of oil filter elements, coolant (lubricant), air filter elements, and oil separator elements, as well as the regular cleaning of coolers, oil return filters, aftercoolers, and condensate drains. Maintenance intervals vary by component; for instance, the oil filter element is replaced after the first 150 hours of operation and subsequently at intervals of up to 2,000 hours. Mineral-based coolant is replaced every 2,000 hours or once a year, whereas "super coolant" is replaced every 8,000 hours or every two years.

To ensure safe operation, the system is equipped with safety devices. A safety valve is installed on the oil-air separator; if the internal pressure exceeds the set limit, the valve opens automatically to rapidly vent air and relieve pressure. The unit also features a high-pressure shutdown switch that automatically stops the machine when the pressure within the oil-air separator reaches the preset level.
