Coordinated Control of Battery Energy Storage and Diesel Generators in Standalone AC Microgrids
In a standalone AC microgrid system, the coordinated control of diesel generators and battery energy storage is crucial for ensuring stable operation. Leveraging the rapid response characteristics of battery energy storage, a coordinated control method for diesel generators and storage batteries is proposed. When the diesel generator acts as the primary power source, an auxiliary power control signal is introduced into the energy storage system's traditional droop control; this prevents system collapse caused by prolonged overcurrent in the diesel engine and enhances system stability. To address the issue of momentary power outages during transitions of the primary power source-whether from the energy storage system to the diesel generator or vice versa-a seamless switching control strategy utilizing a dual-primary-source configuration (diesel generator and storage battery) is proposed.
Research on Modeling and Operational Simulation of Marine Diesel Generator Sets
The operation of marine diesel generator sets constitutes a vital part of the ship's power plant operations. The number of diesel generator sets operating in parallel determines the capacity of the ship's power plant, and the stability of this parallel operation is closely linked to the overall stability of the power plant. Establishing a mathematical model that accurately reflects the operation of diesel generator sets is of great significance for the control, simulation, and performance analysis of the power plant. Research into the parallel operation of diesel generator sets involves developing models for the diesel generators themselves, parallel operation control systems, and electrical loads. While various modeling methods exist for diesel generators, most are limited to simulating single-unit operation. This study focuses on the diesel generator model to establish a mathematical model for the parallel operation of multiple diesel generator sets. Using the power plant of the vessel "Yu Kun" as a reference, models were developed for the diesel generators, electrical loads, and the parallel operation control system.
